This year’s London Motor Show took place at the Battersea Evolution Arena. The show ran from 4-7th May 2017. I was lucky enough to attend the event on Sunday, 7th May.

The Arena is situated right in the heart of Battersea Park which means it’s easy to get to via public transport. Upon entering the park, I was greeted with London Motor Show banners and streams of people coming and going from the event. I thought that Sunday may have been a quieter day at the show, but I was wrong. It was packed with car enthusiasts and automotive fans.

There were lots of different types of exhibitors at the show including manufacturers, dealers, part suppliers, and even popular YouTuber – and car wrapper – Yiannimize whose stand was generating a lot of interest.

The line-up of luxury cars and supercars that H.R Owen brought to the event drew a lot of attention. Their stands showcased a Bentley Bentayga, a luxurious Rolls Royce Wraith Black Badge, a Lamborghini Aventador S, Ferrari GTC4 Lusso, and a BAC Mono which looked absolutely insane.

Another highlight of the show was Aston Martin’s concept hypercar, Valkyrie. For me, seeing this marvellous vehicle in person was something I won’t soon forget. Being able to get up close and personal with the car and really take in the dramatic, eye-catching design was something special.

Elsewhere, Alfa Romeo’s stunning new Giulia made an appearance along with the MG XS, MG’s unreleased compact SUV. Show attendees also had the chance to get up close and personal with Renault’s new Alpine A110 sports car which looked fantastic.

Although the London Motor Show is not yet on par with other shows like Geneva, Frankfurt or Tokyo it is definitely heading in the right direction. If this show continues to grow, in years to come we could definitely see it contend with some of the more established shows or at least become part of the conversation.
