Infiniti has provided a first look at their new QX50 SUV ahead of the full unveiling at the Los Angeles Auto Show next week.
The QX50 will be Infiniti’s first ever production vehicle to feature their new VC-Turbo petrol engine. This engine has variable compression technology that helps to optimise the efficiency and emissions of the vehicle.
Infiniti will no doubt look to infiltrate the ever popular premium SUV segment with the QX50 and claim that it will offer a “new level of refinement, rigidity and interior space”.
The new mid-size SUV is a front engined, front wheel drive vehicle, however, there will be an all-wheel-drive option. Also, it boasts ProPilot automated driving support that will assist the driver when accelerating, braking and steering during single-lane carriageway driving. That said, Infiniti claims that this assistance will not take the feeling of control away from the driver.
As for the appearance of the QX50, it is nothing too mind-blowing. It has the distinct modern styling that you would expect from an Infiniti vehicle, nothing too out there. I can see this car appealing to families who need something comfortable, practical and spacious but also crave an element of luxury.
More information about this car is expected to become available after it’s world premiere at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
