Lotus has unveiled their new Exige Cup 430 sportscar that has more power, more downforce and better performance than any of its predecessors.
The new Cup 430 has a fresh engine installation that delivers 430 hp at 7,000 rpm and 440 Nm of torque from 4,000 rpm. Interestingly, this car has 55 hp (13%) more than the Exige Cup 380 model that came before it. And it can get from 0-60 mph in just 3.2 seconds with a top speed of 180 mph. The power gains are mainly due to the engine being coupled to a new supercharger & charge cooler.
Oh, and It’s not just the engine that has been improved, the Exige Cup 430 has a newly designed body that vastly improves the car’s aerodynamic performance. A new front clam, mesh pattern grille, front splitter, and a larger motorsport wing results in 220 kg of downforce. Also, the use of more lightweight materials – namely carbon fibre – has reduced the car’s overall dry weight by 12 kg to 1,059 kg.
The Lotus Exige Cup 430 comes with an open-gated, close-ratio, six-speed manual transmission, a feature that Lotus claim is popular with their customers. Elsewhere inside the cabin, you will find carbon race seats, carbon door sills, oodles of Alcantara trim, and an Alcantara steering wheel. Quite frankly it sounds like an awesome place to be.
The Exige Cup 430 is available as a series production car and can be ordered now, priced £99,800 including VAT (UK) and €127,500 (Germany) and €128,600 (France).
