Mazda has announced that their new MX-5 Z-Sport will go on sale on 1st March 2018. The exclusive model will showcase a cherry red fabric hood, machine grey metallic paint, which comes at no extra cost, and 17-inch black BBS wheels. Sounds lovely, right.

The interior of the car boasts sand leather seats, Z-Sport floor mats, and for that extra touch of exclusivity, a numbered Z-Sport plaque. This latest MX-5 model will be exclusive to the UK with a limited production run of just 300 cars.

To get your hands on one of these roadsters you will need to fork out £25,595 but for your money, you will get a 2.0-litre SKYACTIV-G engine which produces 160ps (158hp), limited slip differential, Bilstein dampers and a strut brace. All of this coupled with the aesthetic features mentioned earlier make the MX-5 Z-Sport sound like quite a desirable sportscar.

Here is what Mazda Motors UK’s Managing Director, Jeremy Thomson, had to say:

“The MX-5’s new cherry coloured roof was shown for the first time in public at the recent Tokyo Motor Show where it received a very positive reception. I’m delighted that we can bring it to UK MX-5 buyers as part of the exciting Z-Sport limited edition model.”

Mazda aims to deliver a “striking and exclusive car at an affordable price” with this new Z-Sport and will want to see it do as well as their third-generation MX-5 did back in 2007.
