British car manufacturer McLaren has verified that they will be creating ” the most extreme, track-concentrated road car” they have designed yet.
This new model will be added to the McLaren Ultimate Series line as part of their Track22 business plan and will be officially revealed at some point in the first quarter of 2018.
McLaren has confirmed that this track-concentrated road car will be delivered before codename BP23 which is the Hyper-GT model that McLaren also have in the pipeline for their Ultimate Series line.
For those who aren’t familiar with the Ultimate Series, it sits above McLaren’s Super Series of vehicles and showcases high-performance hypercars that are produced in very limited numbers. In fact, all examples of this newly announced car and the BP23 have already been assigned. To give you an idea of what to expect performance-wise, models previously seen in the Ultimate Series include the McLaren P1 and the McLaren P1 GTR.
McLaren claim that this new car will closely follow the company’s philosophy of ‘form follows function’ and although they aim to make it the ultimate track car, it will still be road legal. We expect more details, including the car’s name, to be revealed before the end of 2017.
