Morgan Motor Company have announced that they will be creating their most outlandish model to date, the Aero GT.
This new masterpiece is based on the British car manufacturers Aero 8 car, however, it has been given a brand new lightweight aluminium body that incorporates advanced aerodynamics and boasts improved downforce. The idea to make the Aero GT was born in 2015 during the initial development of the Aero 8, although, it never materialised. Fast forward to present day, and Morgan has now confirmed that the final eight Aero 8 cars to be manufactured will be Aero GT variants.
Morgan’s design team decided to take a new approach towards the Aero GT giving it new wing top louvres, deep side impressions and a drastic rear diffuser. These fresh aesthetic elements are a far cry from the design team’s usual fluid forms but not so far that it makes the Aero GT unrecognisable as a Morgan creation.
Unsurprisingly, all eight models of the exclusive Aero GT have already been secured by dedicated Morgan customers so unfortunately, you won’t be able to get your hands on one. However, you may be able to see one. The Aero GT is set to be officially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2018.
The Aero GT is equipped with a 4.8-litre BMW V8 engine that produces 367 hp and can get from 0-62 mph in 4.5 seconds. The car can reach a top speed of 170 mph and features the same six-speed manual gearbox found in the Aero 8.
